Caramel Glazed Pear Cake

Ingredients:
     Cake
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup pear syrup or juice
2 cups fresh pears, peeled, diced or 16 oz. canned
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
     Glaze
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbs. butter
2 Tbs. pear juice or fruit nectar
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Preparation:
Prepare cake by creaming together butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla to sugar. Sift together dry ingredients. Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture alternating with the juice until all mixed together. Add pears, raisins and nuts. Pour batter into 9 x 13 inch greased pan and bake at 400° for 25 minutes.

To prepare glaze, combine and boil the brown sugar, butter and nectar then stir in the powdered sugar. Drizzle over warm cake.
