Ingredients:
Cake
1 box vanilla wafers
1/2 cup melted butter (more if needed)
3 small (3 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
Topping
1 cup sour cream
2 Tbs. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation:
Crumble vanilla wafers in food processor or with a rolling pin. Combine melted butter and vanilla wafers. Add more butter if necessary to hold crumbs together. Press into deep pie dish.
Soften cream cheese and beat until smooth. Add sugar to cream cheese then add eggs, and grated peel. Beat well after each addition. Spoon into vanilla wafer crumb shell. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Cool.
Combine together in a mixer the sour cream, sugar and vanilla. When smooth, spread on top of cheese cake. Cook 5 minutes more. Cool and chill well before serving.
