Ingredients:
1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup lukewarm water
2 cups scalded milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 2/3 cups whole wheat flour.
Preparation:
Add sugar and salt to milk. Cool and when lukewarm, add dissolved yeast and flour. Beat well, cover and let rise to double its bulk. Punch down, knead, shape and turn into well greased pans filling pans half full. Allow to rise to not quite double its bulk. Bake for 10 minutes at 400° then reduce heat to 375° and cook another 40 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool.
