Christmas Cookies (Maple Nut)


Ingredients:
1/2 lb. butter
4 Tbs. powdered sugar
1 tsp. maple flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups chopped pecans
Powdered sugar

Preparation:
Cream together butter and sugar. Add flavorings and mix well. Blend in flour then pecans. Mixture will be dry. Form into walnut-sized balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 250° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Roll balls in powdered sugar while still warm.

History:
My mother made these every year for Christmas which is why we call them Christmas Cookies.
