Apple Crisp

Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter, softened
5 cups peeled and sliced green apples (about 6)

Preparation:
Mix sugar, flour, spices and salt together in a medium bowl. Cut butter into sugar mixture until mixture is crumbly. Place sliced apples in shallow, buttered, baking dish (e.g. 12 inch square Pyrex). Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples. Bake uncovered at 350˚ for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender.

Serving Suggestion:
Serve warm with sliced cheese or add a dollop of whipped cream.

Variation:
Add some chopped walnuts or pecans for a little more crunch.
