Shish Kabob

Ingredients:
2 to 3 lbs. beef sirloin, cut into 2 inch cubes
2 cups teriyaki sauce (purchased or homemade)
8 oz. mushrooms
1 pkg. cherry tomatoes
2 large onions, cut into 6 wedges and separated into 2 layer
      pieces
2 large green bell peppers, seeded and cut into 2 inch squares

Preparation:
Marinate meat cubes in teriyaki sauce for at least 2 days. Place a cube of meat on skewer, then alternate with mushrooms, tomatoes, onion and bell peppers. Broil or BBQ shish kabobs until browned on each side.

Serving Suggestion:
I prefer to serve shish kabobs on a bed of cooked white rice. Be sure to have additional teriyaki, soy or tempura sauce on the table in case your guests wish to add additional flavor to their rice or vegetables.

History:
In the late 70’s and early 80’s, we used to shop at Fedco once every two weeks when we received our paychecks from the County. Fedco sold the sirloin cubes already marinated in teriyaki sauce. When Fedco closed it’s doors, I had to develop a replacement for their teriyaki sirloin cubes. This is the replacement recipe.
