Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut

Ingredients:
4 Polish Sausages (1 to 1 1/2 lbs)
32 oz. sauerkraut (rinsed and drained)
2 cubes (1/2 lb.) butter
1 cup bread crumbs

Preparation:
Slice sausage in 1 inch diagonal slices. Melt 1 1/2 cubes (3/4 cup) butter in a large skillet with high sides. Add sausage and drained sauerkraut. Sauté until heated thoroughly. In a separate skillet, melt remaining butter. Add bread crumbs. Sauté, stirring constantly, over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.

Serving Suggestion:
Polish sausage and sauerkraut is best with hot buttered noodles. Sprinkle the fried bread crumbs on either or both the sauerkraut and noodles. Add a little fresh ground pepper and you have a hearty meal for cold weather.
